Why go traveling in an RV?

My Husband in Red Rock Canyon

A few years back my husband and I took a trip to Las Vegas.  I asked him to come with me to Red Rock Canyon and Valley of Fire State Park.  Since he'd never taken any trips to anywhere like this before, he was totally amazed at the beauty of the land out there and the accessibility of it.  It was then that I first started to talk to him about the amazing trips we could take in an RV.

Scotty Trailer

Growing up, I spent a month every summer traveling with my family in a small Scotty brand trailer pulled by an un-air conditioned car.  These trips usually took place in July, and the trailer was not self-contained, but it was a step up from camping on the ground in a tent.  I had so many wonderful childhood memories about these annual trips, that I wanted to travel like that again as an adult. (but with air conditioning, heat, and a bathroom in a motor home!)

I finally had him convinced a few years later to at least try renting one.  Unfortunately, shortly after we decided to do it, he was diagnosed with cancer, which would ultimately end his life 8 months later.  We were never able to enjoy any RV trips together, and for a short time I thought my dream had died with him.
